With Valentine's fast approaching, I thought I would work on a few fun little cards. Not your typical Red, Pink, White Valentine's. Something a little non-traditional. Girl Image is Tiddly Inks Mailbox: Lawn Fawn

Round 1 of the Scrapbooking portion of the Supreme Scrap tournament. The challenge: Create a 2 page layout or mix media project with the theme of 1000 steps from home. Living in a suburban community, there isn't too many interesting things within that radius. What one would expect. Street signs and sidewalks. But, it's the snow covered ground that I like the most. I was going for a stark look. Like you would expect to see on a cloudy winter day. Just the contrast between dark tones, and the glittery white of the bright snow. My title: Gloomy Winter Days Journaling reads: Gloomy winter days are my favorite time of the year. The crunch of your feet when they hit the snow. The cold brisk chill that bites at your cheeks. The dim light masking everything in a gray haze. But most importantly, it's the quiet. Maybe the sound of the wind, or the creek of the branches weighed down by the snow. but, it's quiet. My thought are my own and I can enjoy my surroundings with out invasion of other noises. Simple peace. Supplies used: Bazzill basic white for backround Sizzix Snowflake die cuts Various embossing powders by Stampabilities.
